RocketExpo – Your Exhibition Stand Partner for Leipziger Messe
Leipzig has been a city of trade fairs for more than 850 years, and the current exhibition grounds are designed with simplicity and efficiency in mind: five equally sized halls, the iconic Glass Hall as the central foyer, and a large outdoor exhibition area. Exhibitors do not need to navigate a maze of halls here. Visitors can easily find your stand.
For years, we have worked in Leipzig primarily within one industry: veterinary medicine. At the Leipzig Veterinary Congress, we have designed and built exhibition stands for MSD Animal Health, Veyx-Pharma, Covetrus, Bela-Pharm, and Dechra across multiple editions of the event, ranging from 36 to 110 square meters. We have also created an exhibition presence for optimed at LINC, the international congress for interventional vascular medicine.
This is no coincidence. It is the reason we can offer something many others cannot:
We understand how a congress stand works.
And that is fundamentally different from a traditional trade fair stand.

Why a Congress Requires Different Planning Than a Trade Show
At a trade fair, visitors typically spread out throughout the day. At a congress, they do not. Participants spend most of their time in lecture halls, and when a break begins, everyone exits at the same time. Twenty minutes later, the aisles are empty again.
For your stand, this rhythm has three important consequences:
-
Hospitality is not a courtesy. It is infrastructure: During breaks, attendees look for coffee and refreshments. Companies that provide them create conversations. Those that do not attract only passing visitors.
-
Seating determines the length of conversations: People who sit down stay longer. And visitors who stay longer talk about more than just what's in the brochure.
-
Long-range visibility must work within seconds: When hundreds of people enter the aisles simultaneously, sightlines determine which stands they stop at.
Our Leipzig projects have addressed these three challenges in very different ways.

An Orange Ice Cream Cart: MSD Animal Health at the Leipzig Veterinary Congress
The objective for the 2020 Veterinary Congress was ambitious: create the most eye-catching stand at the event with the strongest long-distance impact.
The approach, however, was surprisingly restrained. Compared to the previous year, the stand design was intentionally cleaner, following the principle that less is more.
The centerpiece became an ice cream cart.
Bright orange, deliberately contrasting with MSD’s turquoise corporate design, accompanied by a flower meadow and a textile graphic used as a purposeful stylistic break. The cart became not only the focal point of the stand itself but one of the biggest visitor attractions of the entire congress.
The technical sophistication lay in its relationship to the large LED video wall positioned directly beside it. The curved video wall visually separated the two attractions into distinct zones. Two attention-grabbing features can only coexist when they are carefully separated.
A Stand Like a Cartoon: Veyx-Pharma at the Leipzig Veterinary Congress
Veyx-Pharma, a family-owned mid-sized company from Schwarzenborn, wanted something truly distinctive. On 110 square meters, we transformed the space into a pasture landscape, not realistically, but in a cartoon style.
Visitors entering the stand stepped directly into an animated world built around the products.
The display structures formed the centerpiece of the concept: shelving designed as cartoon-style trees extending the visual theme right into the outer corners of the stand.
From a construction perspective, this was where the real innovation happened. We developed a completely new connector system. Components were CNC-milled from multiplex wood, hand-stained in two colors, and sealed with a two-component lacquer to ensure years of reuse. The result was a transportable, tool-free system that remained entirely unique.
And because congress schedules are not negotiable, visitors were served wheat beer, sausage, and bread during lecture breaks.
It is a detail rarely discussed in design presentations, but one that often determines who remains at the stand after the break ends.
Animals That Look Back at You: Covetrus at the Leipzig Veterinary Congress
Covetrus wanted to communicate products and information across a 110-square-meter stand, resulting in a deliberately straightforward design featuring blue and white tones aligned with the company's corporate identity.
The emotional impact came through the graphics.
Large-format visuals depicted animals together with people, imagery designed to be felt rather than analyzed. Bright, focused lighting emphasized these graphics and distinguished the stand from its surrounding competitors.
The theme continued into the meeting room behind the graphic walls, where visitors remained surrounded by animal imagery.
For product presentation, we developed entirely new standard elements for our modular frame system. Illuminated display cases were integrated flush into the wall structure, creating a seamless architectural appearance.
Visitors did not perceive inserted display cabinets; they saw a single cohesive wall.
That is the difference between an exhibition system and a custom exhibition stand.
“An Interactive Diamond”: optimed at LINC
optimed's brief was remarkably concise: "Create a stand that attracts attention and encourages interaction. An interactive diamond." And do it within 30 square meters. Rather than relying on size, we focused on engaging multiple senses.
The concept included:
-
Dynamic colored lighting
-
An LED video wall for long-range visibility
-
A suspended ceiling feature with flowing forms
-
An interactive media display inviting hands-on engagement
-
A meeting room with glass doors and windows that remained open yet discreet
The most striking element, however, was located under visitors' feet. A printed floor graphic divided the stand into functional zones while incorporating optimed's own product directly into the flooring design. Visitors literally stood on the product. See it. Feel it. Touch it. Move through it.
The concept enabled visitors to understand the product within moments, often before speaking to anyone.

What We Take Care Of
-
Concept and design: Review and approve the design before construction begins.
-
Congress-focused planning: Hospitality areas, seating, and sightlines designed to accommodate intense break-time visitor traffic.
-
Custom-built solutions: If your concept requires a unique piece of furniture or display element, we design and manufacture it. Examples include Veyx's cartoon trees and Covetrus' flush-integrated display cases.
-
Built for reuse: Congresses and trade fairs occur on a regular schedule. We design stands to last through multiple editions rather than requiring complete reconstruction each time.
-
LED and media technology: We install video walls and media displays and train your stand staff so content can be updated throughout the event.
-
Exhibition logistics for Leipzig: Transportation, delivery scheduling, installation, dismantling, return shipping, cleaning, and storage.
-
GDPR-compliant visitor analytics: With Event-Metrics, you can monitor visitor numbers, dwell time, and returning visitors in real time. This is particularly valuable at congresses, where visitor flow patterns clearly reflect session and break schedules.
