Exhibition stand construction Berlin

If you are looking for a custom exhibition stand for a trade show in Berlin and a reliable partner for planning, design, and execution, we support you from the initial idea through to the finished exhibition presence.

Your Partner for Trade Show Appearances in Berlin

The exhibition grounds beneath Berlin’s iconic Funkturm have evolved over time rather than being built according to a single master plan, and that becomes apparent during stand construction. There are 27 exhibition halls from different decades, along with the CityCube, hub27, and palais.Berlin. Hall 18, for example, has very little in common structurally with Hall 27. Anyone planning a stand here needs to know exactly which hall they are exhibiting in.

The good news is that Berlin is highly convenient from a logistical perspective. Almost all halls are accessible at ground level, freight elevators are rarely needed, and power, water, and data connections can be supplied to almost any point thanks to raised floors and service channel systems. For you, this means shorter setup times and fewer additional costs, provided these factors are considered from the beginning.

We have delivered exhibition stands ranging from 40 to more than 100 square meters at events such as ITB, IFA, CWIEME, and the World Money Fair. One of these stands was even recognized with an award by ITB.

Berlin Exhibition Grounds

With 190,000 square meters of indoor exhibition space and 100,000 square meters of outdoor exhibition space, Berlin is Germany’s largest exhibition venue by area.

In addition to the traditional halls, there are several specialized venues: the CityCube for congress formats, the column-free hub27, and the historic palais.Berlin. The Messe Berlin Studio is available for hybrid event formats.

There is also the Sommergarten, a stadium-style green area in the center of the venue that hosts open-air concerts during IFA. This creates an interesting advantage for exhibitors: if your stand is located near the Sommergarten, it will attract a different visitor flow than a stand located in one of the outer halls. It is an important factor in stand location selection that is rarely discussed.

Berlin: Exhibition Stand Construction for Innovative Presentations

  • ITB Berlin:  Travel products are abstract. You cannot simply place them on a table. At ITB, atmosphere often determines whether visitors stop and engage. We create open layouts, comfortable seating areas where people actually stay, and LED surfaces that ensure visibility from a distance. The success of this approach was confirmed at ITB 2023, when our stand for HotelPartner received the award for 3rd Best Exhibitor in the Travel Technology category.

  • InnoTrans: At InnoTrans, vehicles, components, and systems are often extremely heavy. Structural engineering, load distribution, and delivery logistics are therefore not secondary considerations but the starting point of the planning process. In addition, private meeting areas are essential, as many discussions in this industry are not held openly on the exhibition floor.

  • IFA: At IFA, you compete with corporate exhibitors whose budgets may be several times larger than yours. The answer is not more floor space but better zoning: Where are products displayed? Where do consultations take place? Where are negotiations conducted? For devolo, we addressed this by creating separate indoor and outdoor areas, with new customer conversations taking place at the front and contract negotiations held in protected interior spaces.

A Mountain Lodge with a View of Zermatt: HotelPartner at ITB

The original concept began with a concrete-look design. The team then developed the idea into a mountain lodge overlooking Zermatt, perfectly aligned with the ITB motto, “Open for Change,” and with the rebranding recently introduced by HotelPartner Revenue Management.

A shared 64-square-meter stand was created for three companies. The design featured wood aesthetics, bistro furniture, a textile graphic depicting a fireplace behind the counter, and an LED video wall of almost four square meters that created strong long-distance visibility.

ITB honored the stand with the 3rd Best Exhibitor award in the Travel Technology category.

Experiencing Coins Without Touching Them: Swissmint at the World Money Fair

Swissmint, the Swiss Federal Mint, faced a unique challenge: collectible coins are small, valuable, and displayed behind glass, yet visitors should still be able to experience them.

Across 70 square meters, we achieved this in two ways. A curved LED video wall created visual impact from afar, while a gold-colored, flowing reception counter with embossed branding served as a meeting point.

In addition, an interactive kiosk application allowed visitors to select a coin, rotate it 360 degrees, and view details not visible to the naked eye.

The real challenge was the technical implementation. The positioning, power supply, and content management of the LED wall had to be carefully planned without compromising the stand’s design.

“How Many Dots Can You Count?” – Kienle + Spiess at CWIEME

Sometimes a stand needs not technology, but a compelling question.

Kienle + Spiess exhibited with its own stand concept at the Coil Winding Expo for the first time. The idea was almost deceptively simple: colored adhesive dots and the question of how many visitors could count.

People stopped, took a second look, and started conversations. Across 100 square meters, products were displayed like museum exhibits in illuminated showcase columns. Behind them were spacious meeting areas, because at CWIEME people come to negotiate, not just to observe.

Two Types of Conversations, Two Distinct Zones: devolo at IFA

At IFA, exhibitors interact with two very different groups: casual visitors and business partners.

On a 114-square-meter stand, we separated these functions spatially. Open discussion areas in the exterior section were used for initial conversations, while shielded seating areas inside provided privacy for confidential discussions.

The reception counter also served as a live demonstration station for apps, software solutions, and home automation products.

Customized Options for Your Trade Show Presence in Berlin

Exhibition Space Consulting: Before discussing design, we discuss stand type and size. A well-designed corner stand often outperforms a larger space that is poorly utilized. We will tell you that, even if it means recommending a smaller project.

Custom Fabrication: Furniture and display elements built specifically for your requirements. For r.bourgeois, this involved real stainless steel. For Swissmint, it meant a curved branded reception counter.

Concept Approval: You review and approve the design before construction begins. No surprises on installation day.

Logistics: Transportation of exhibition systems, rental furniture, and displays directly to Messe Berlin, including coordination of delivery time slots.

On-Site Installation: Our team handles setup and delivers your stand on schedule. For devolo, HotelPartner, and Kienle + Spiess, the same project managers who planned the stands also supervised implementation.

Virtual Exhibition Stand

After three exhibition days, most stands return to storage. It does not have to be that way.

We can recreate your stand as a digital twin and integrate it into your website, allowing customers who could not attend the show in Berlin to experience it and extending its value long after the event has ended.

There are virtually no limitations when it comes to design. Furniture and graphics are included, and we can also produce additional content such as videos or webinars.

Whether this solution is worthwhile depends on your target audience. Ask us, and we will give you an honest assessment.
