Your Exhibition Stand Builder for Messe München

Munich hosts some of the largest trade fairs in the world. And that is not an exaggeration: bauma is the world's largest trade fair by exhibition area. In 2025, it attracted around 600,000 visitors. This is possible thanks to a venue that offers more than 200,000 square meters of indoor exhibition space across 18 halls, as well as over 400,000 square meters of outdoor space where excavators, cranes, and tunnel-boring machines are displayed.

For exhibitors, this means two things. First, stand spaces are often larger here than elsewhere, which changes the challenge. On 40 square meters, the goal is to attract attention. On 1,000 square meters, the focus shifts to visitor flow: where people walk, where they stop, and where they can take time to engage with your company. Second, when floor space is scarce and expensive, it makes sense to build upward. Our largest project in Munich was a two-story exhibition stand covering 1,104 square meters.

We have built exhibition stands at Messe München ranging from 32 to 1,104 square meters, including three projects at bauma as well as exhibitions at iba, Intersolar, Expo Real, transport logistic, IFAT, IAA Mobility, Viszeralmedizin, and Opti. This range is intentional: a successful small stand is not simply a scaled-down version of a large one.

Successful Exhibiting at Munich's Leading Trade Fairs

bauma: The world's largest trade fair for construction machinery, equipment, and mining technology, and a place where exhibition stand construction often reaches physical limits. Exhibits can weigh several tons, making logistics, delivery schedules, and installation sequences critical considerations long before the design phase begins. When floor space is insufficient, we create two-story stands with product presentations on the ground floor and meeting spaces above. We have delivered projects here for Liebherr, Rotzler, and Robbins.

Expo Real: At Expo Real, meetings are scheduled almost continuously for four days. Here, a stand functions primarily as an office with strong brand visibility. Modular systems can be adapted to different stand sizes and visitor volumes, but the real question is whether there are enough meeting spaces and whether conversations can take place without interruption.

electronica: Electronics products are often small, complex, and difficult to showcase visually. LED and video technology therefore play a key role in explaining what a product alone cannot communicate. The important thing is that technology supports the message rather than replacing it.

IFAT and Intersolar: Environmental and energy technology companies often bring visually impressive exhibits but also complex business models that require explanation. We therefore create clearly separated areas: visible product displays and protected consulting spaces. We have implemented this approach for companies such as Dräger and Tesla.

transport logistic: Logistics companies sell processes rather than physical products. As a result, the stand must provide clarity and facilitate meaningful conversations. We have built exhibition stands for the Hammer Group twice at this trade fair.

1,104 Square Meters Across Two Levels - Werner & Pfleiderer at iba

Werner & Pfleiderer Lebensmitteltechnik develops equipment for process optimization in the baking industry. At iba Munich, the company occupied the largest exhibition space we have ever delivered: 1,104 square meters across two levels.

At this scale, functionality takes priority over aesthetics. We designed the stand as two separate structures connected by a central pathway, encouraging visitors to walk through rather than around the stand. Product towers guided visitors through the exhibit, arranging the machinery like stations in a production line. Anyone crossing the stand was able to understand the complete production process.

Suspended truss structures provided visual organization and delivered strong long-distance visibility across a large section of the exhibition hall.

The upper floor was reserved for VIP guests and offered a panoramic view of the exhibition. This is one of the most underestimated advantages of a double-deck stand: it provides not only additional space, but also a completely different perspective.

A Sandbox for Adults - Liebherr at bauma

Not every exhibition stand is designed to sell a product. At bauma 2019, Liebherr used its stand in the ICM foyer to address an even greater challenge: attracting future talent. The stand was part of the campaign "Think Big – Careers in Construction and Building Materials Machinery", where trainers and recruiters answered questions about apprenticeships, university programs, and career opportunities.

The main attraction was a large sandbox where visitors could operate remote-controlled Liebherr crawler excavators and move sand around the site. A large LED video wall in the background displayed changing visual content and information, while seating areas encouraged longer conversations.

It was a stand designed for students and young professionals in a hall full of decision-makers, yet it successfully attracted both audiences. After all, adults enjoy playing with excavators too.

A Floor That Guides Attention - Tesla at Intersolar

At Intersolar Munich, Tesla presented a new premium vehicle. Across 120 square meters, the challenge was to translate technical precision into a physical environment without allowing the stand itself to overshadow the car.

The key element was the flooring: a seamless white high-gloss surface that naturally guided visitors' attention across the entire stand. The stand walls served as information displays with integrated graphics, complemented by a flat-screen display and the Powerwall as a product reference.

Meeting areas were positioned directly beside the vehicle, not tucked away in a corner, but exactly where conversations naturally began.

Using white as the dominant design color may sound obvious, but it only works when execution and cleanliness are flawless. For a brand built on technical precision, every imperfect edge becomes visible.
